The digital transformation of healthcare

The healthcare sector is undergoing continuous change. Regulatory guidelines, medical progress and demographic change influence all market players.

People and institutions involved in the provision of healthcare are becoming increasingly connected, information flows will in future be organised comprehensively and in the form of a network.

Progressive digitisation makes it easier for all involved to obtain and share information quickly and extensively.

Today an estimated 80 percent of all data is unstructured, and an even higher percentage cannot be evaluated automatically. The reasons for this are not only inadequate data quality, but also a lack of networking pathways and insufficient conversion of traditional processes to digital procedures.

This presents huge potential for the economy in terms of information technology, which can at the same time have a positive influence on the desperately needed control of the explosion in healthcare costs.
